Gewünschte Partnerländer: Primary schools interested in first language teaching improvement. All parts of Europe are welcome, including candidate countries and overseas territories
Projektidee: The school works actively with “the pupil in the centre” method and has a thematic focus on language and communication as essential tools for individual development. We want to engage in a partnership with other schools also interested in developing their teaching of 1st languages in order to increase the achievements of pupils. Gewünschte Partnerländer: At Skive Gymnasium & HF we strongly believe in international school partnerships in general and in class exchange programmes in particular. Projektidee: Who are we?
Skive Gymnasium & HF is a Danish high school in the Western part of Denmark with an international profile that we would like to make broader than it already is.We offer two different courses:
a three year course, the STX and a two year course, the HF. Both courses are aimed at the same age group of youngsters between 15 and 19, i.e. youngsters who have finished the compulsory part of the Danish school system, and both the STX and the HF qualify to further studies at universities or other institutions of higher education.
In the Danish educational system English is the first foreign language and the teaching starts in third grade, which means that Danish youngsters are quite fluent in English and the working language of our exchange programmes is therefore English. Apart from English, we teach German, French and Spanish as foreign languages.

Projektidee: Welcome to your Innovation zone to explore Europe : We intend to share a range of skills and expertise in the effective use of ICT to enhance children's learning potential and European awareness . It is our intention to identify best practise in the effective use of ICT within our schools and share this through a range of media, e.g. interactive website, online learning platforms and video resources which celebrate the best practise in each partnership. We have a particular interest in the effective use of new technologies such as mobile learning devices (specific the daily use of iPads).
Main guide lines
It is about exploring each other’s culture, environment, language, … by using iPad apps.
It will be simple activities where a lot of students can participate into the project.
Communication: face time, email, … Making a song by using the instruments apps:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2W9z-nrTQD4
Presenting your class, school environment, activity: Photo Booth, iMovie, iPhoto, …
Easy language learning: book creator , a powerful app. One can add sound to pictures. You even can publish your book on ibook. Art: many apps , a lot of creativity
History: visit an historical city/ museum and make a presentation of the highlights. In case of a museum: create your own by using apps and share
Math challenge: make exercises and send them to partner schools. (Wiki’s)
There are many apps we can learn to use and swap outcomes very easily by dropbox or other tools.
This is a call to join our project. This will not be on top of your curriculum. It will not mean you will have a lot of work. My English partner and me have done many Comenius projects and always enjoyed them.
Schools (age 3 – 12) from other regions in Europe, interested in sharing their experience in the effective use of ICT within their schools and in exploring each other’s identity.
(one partner school from the UK is already on board)
